The property, containing two non-contiguous tracts of 482± acres and 249± acres, are both located on a hillside by Rogue River resort community of Galice – known as gateway to Wild and Scenic Rogue River – one of North America’s most ±popular destinations for challenging whitewater rafting and world class steelhead and salmon fishing. The north tract of 482± acres contains the 2.8 million board feet and the site of Channel Mines. The south tract of 249± acres contains 3 year-old reproduction.The property is within a 30-minute drive of Merlin at I-5, Exit 61. Merlin-Galice Road provides year-round access. Oregon’s only Orvis-endorsed fishing lodge, Morrisons Rogue River Lodge, is located two miles east of Galice. Galice, located within Graves Creek Mining District, has a rich history for placer gold dating from the 1850s. Old Channel Gold Mine, located on the 482± acre north parcel, was started in 1860 on a high terrace, 600 feet above the Rogue River. It grew into one of the largest hydraulic gold mining operations within the Western United States. All mineral rights owned by Seller will be conveyed.
